H. Upmann Connoisseur No.2. Vitola de Galera: Bohemios. Length: 134mm (5¼″). Cepo: 51 (20.16 mm).
Standar Production.

The H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 2 is a meticulously crafted Robusto, featuring a smooth Colorado wrapper, celebrated for its elegance and unwavering consistency. As part of the esteemed H. Upmann line, the Connoisseur No. 2 has long been cherished by aficionados for its harmonious balance and refined complexity. Introduced in 2020 during a virtual event hosted by 5th Avenue Products Trading-GmbH, this cigar represents the fourth creation in the Connoisseur series, which began in 1960 with the legendary Connoisseur No. 1.

Upon lighting, the pre-draw aromas evoke notes of cedar, sweet tobacco, and a delicate earthiness. The first third reveals a creamy profile, with flavours of toasted almonds, gentle spice, and a subtle honeyed sweetness. As the cigar progresses into the second third, richer nuances of roasted coffee, leather, and cocoa emerge, enhanced by a balanced, nutty undertone. The final third brings a deepening of flavours, with bold wood, black pepper, and dark chocolate, culminating in a rich, medium-bodied experience that is marked by smooth transitions and a long, satisfying finish.

Historically, the Connoisseur No. 2 stands out as a distinguished choice, admired for its classic blend and dependable character. It is often regarded as a favoured selection for those who appreciate the finesse of Cuban craftsmanship without the need for overpowering strength.

Connie 2 from a feb. 22 cab 25x
First smoke of a Cabinet that intoxicatingly smells like dark chocolate. Would make me feel like plunging into!
Foot smell & cold draw on the same torrefied cocoa notes.
Showing sweet & salty notes on the lips, the first puffs offer milk foam & nutty flavours wrapped up in a medium bodied smoke.
Milk coffee & creamy notes intensifying along the first third, leaving shortbread notes on the palate, all blending even better altogether on the second third. The vitola delivers an all round mesmerising balance that fully expresses itself on a sandier shortbread in thicker creamy atmosphere.
A exponential smoke from a true great cigar.
Great draw & even burn throughout.
Marvellous.

Store bought at Sweets n Cigars.

Location: This review was made indoors in Sweet Leaf’s lounge.

Information:
Wrapper: Cuba
Binder: Cuba
Filler: Cuba
Origin: Cuba

Factory: N/A Cuba
Box: Sold in 25 count boxes.
Release: 2021
Availability: Regular Production

Size: 5.25×51, Robusto (Bohemios)

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily with small veins.

Construction: Fairly firm and even when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Light wood, honey notes and hay.

1st third: Starts with a light butter biscuits and almond note backed by cedarwood and white pepper.

2nd third: Getting clear notes of cinnamon added to the mix.

Burn: Burns a little uneven, with a firm and stable white-ish ash.

Smoke: Light smoke, with a cool feeling on the tongue with a medium type draw.

3rd third: It has turned to a creamy, Swedish cinnamon bun aka not overly sweet, while still retaining the previous mentioned flavours.

Duration: 17:40-18:40, 1h.

Conclusion: A mild to medium bodied cigar with a mild strength profile. I’d say it started pretty mundane, but really came to life half way through. A good rival to Connossieur B but with a little bit more excitement towards the end.

Result: In my book this is an 88 point cigar.
