Another day and another cigar - this time it’s the final instalment to the Romeo y Julieta Línea de Oro trilogy of reviews - the mighty Dianas - a 52 ring gauge by 5 3/8 inches vitola known as a Damas or Robusto Extra. Of the 3 cigars in the range this would be my favourite size and length so I was very much looking forward to sampling this cigar. Like the first 2 cigars in the series this cigar comes with a lovely chocolate wrapper ordained with the 2 golden bands - it’s a stunner! The draw and burn are exceptional continuing to show that this range deserves to be included in the @habanos_oficial premium portfolio. The first third was exceptional with lovely sweet flavours paired with a lovely thick textured smoke. The retro hale was smooth and the aroma sweet and floral. The cigar is considered a medium strength and this is certainly true. By the half way mark the sweet notes were joined by some savoury flavours and cream though a real sweet flavour was the dominant taste. @cigaraficionado described the flavours as “baking spices and Marsala wine before a finish that hints of honey”. I certainly experienced this description though the spices really didn’t appear for me though I am not disappointed at all. I have to say I really love this cigar. I truly believed that the Nobles would be my favourite of the 3 however the Dianas has stolen the top award in my eyes. This cigar would be a perfect after dinner cigar as it would replace any urge I would have for a sweet desert. So yes this cigar was delicious and I’m definitely going to be buying a box!
