Another day and another cigar back at my favourite lounge @tomtomcigars - this time smoking the Hoyo de Monterrey No.4 Limited Edition 2021. I was lucky enough to pick up a box which is now safe and sound in my keep but thought it worthwhile to try one before the ageing process. Each cigar is presented in a new Maravillas No. 4 vitola. Measuring 55 ring gauge by 145mm long, this is an entirely new size for Hoyo de Monterrey and is comparable to the previous Grand Epicure Limited Edition. The light strength associated with this famous brand is served in spades, with all the tobacco used having undergone the additional two years of ageing required for an Edición Limitada. The cigar was incredibly smooth and light to begin with and immaculate draw and burn. The cigar did grow in flavour in the final 2 thirds but retained the incredibly smooth and creamy texture. I know for many this maybe too “light” but given I am a morning smoker predominantly this cigar is right up my street!
