I think this cigar did not get a fair chance
I was available at the begging if COVID-19
so cigar smokers did not enjoy it (in my opinion)
the size is what I love among the cigar vitolas
it has dark chocolate wrap, however it is medium body cigar
fair amount of smoke and firm ash
great coffee taste and aroma
great for a night out with friends

553. Montecristo Supremos Edicion Limitada 2019

2020-10-06/ ANDREDIAS95

Supplied by Mellgrens Fine Tobacco.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.

Information:
Wrapper: Cuba
Binder: Cuba
Filler: Cuba
Luxury box of 25 cigars.

Size: 5.1×55, Robusto (Montesco)

Wrapper: Coffee bean, oily and smooth with tiny veins.

Construction: Fairly firm with a even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Hay and cedarwood.

1st third: Starts with a natural peanuts and cedarwood note.

2nd third: So notes of earth and 60% chocolate otherwise pretty much the same from before.

Burn: Burns a bit uneven, with a firm and stable crisp white ash.

Smoke: Medium light smoke with a cool feeling on the tongue and a medium light draw.

3rd third: Gets a somewhat hit of pepper, but nothing to noticeful, otherwise no changes.

Duration: 22:40-23:50, 1h 10 min.

Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile.

Result: In my book this is an 88 point cigar.

I went halves on a box of these with a friend of mine. The two I have smoked so far were fantastic. The construction and draw were perfect, and the burn nice and even each time. Despite these being ‘young’ albeit with the already aged tobacco, the flavour was delicious. Woody and meaty to start with that monte tang, building up to quite a spicy finish. I liked the gauge of these and smoked it with a V cut, but was left wanting more at the end….hence why I lit up two back to back! I hope I can hold restraint and keep the rest to age a bit. Definitely one of my favourite cigars to date.
