I first encountered this cigar in Cuba Nov 2016. It was my first time trying Trinidad and I instantly fell in love with it. I bought a box of 12 when I went back home and re-visited again in April of 2024. It got even better, Trinidad is not a light smoke, but the flavors have developed even more over the years and there is a note of creamyness in the chocolate taste after 7 years of aging.

I tried one tick before I buy a boxes the first stick I tried it was a beautiful great Cigar with a great size, is full of flavors coffee fruit vegetable sweet and the burn was unbelievable.
then I managed to get two boxes both boxes didn’t give me the kick as the first stick you won’t believe it but I start to give it away to friends and since then I did not smoke it now these days the price of the Cigar is spike up and hard to find, I don’t know maybe it’s just me

From my own collection.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge.

Information:
Wrapper: Cuba
Binder: Cuba
Filler: Cuba

Size: 5×56, Robusto.

Wrapper: Coffee bean, oily and smooth with small protruding veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Light cedarwood note.

1st third: Starts with a note of chestnut, dried fruits and cedarwood.

2nd third: Keeps previous flavours with a hint of cacao.

Burn: Burns fairly sharp with a firm and stable white ash.

Smoke: Light smoke with a medium heat feel on the tongue and a medium light draw.

3rd third: No changes from part 2.

Duration: 16:05-17:05, 1h.

Conclusion: A medium to full bodied cigar with a medium strength profile.

Result: In my book this is an 91 point cigar.

This limited edition is not to be confused with the general production cigar - The Trinidad Topes. They are very different in shape and size and taste too. The LE version is slightly shorter and much darker. It is richer and smoother too - a Roger Moore to Sean Connery. But who was the better Bond? There is no answer to that question and the same is true for comparisons between the LE and the one we all smoke today. However, the LE version is an exceptional cigar. It is the epitome of balance and I think that many people were sorry that the ‘real thing’ did not mirror the early edition in as many ways as they would have liked. If you can find one try it since I slightly feel such high quality cigars are rare and must be smoked at every opportunity. It’s the cigar that M would have smoked for sure.
