Now these days Habanos are promoting this Brand, it was under the radar
This Cigar is best paired with black coffee and dark chocolate
It has woody and cedar taste with amazing aroma
Very well constructed with light body
The only down side for me is, it comes in 25 box, I wish if it came in 10

318. San Cristóbal de la Habana La Fuerza

2019-05-26/ ANDREDIAS95

From my own collection.

Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens cigar lounge.

Information:
San Cristóbal is a current post-Revolution brand, launched in late 1999.
The range comprises light to medium-strength cigars, using tobacco from the premium Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba.
Dress Box of 25 cigars.

Size: 5.6×50, Robusto Extra (Gorditos).

Wrapper: Milk chocolate, oily and silky-smooth with tiny veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Sandalwood and a nutty note.

1st third: Starts with a cork wood note, light nutty undernotes and a wheat biscuit base.

2nd third: Keeps it’s previous flavours.

Burn: Burns sharp, with a firm and stable whiteish ash.

Smoke: Medium voluminous smoke, with a cool feeling on the tongue and a medium light draw.

3rd third: Gets a little stronger but not to heavy.

Duration: 18:35-20:10, 1h 35 min.

Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile.

Result: In my book this is an 88 point cigar.

A superb cigar. Floral and vegetal qualities are present in the first third, then developing to those of a deeper nature, namely oak and leather. Despite its savoury qualities I find it overall to be a sweet cigar of a light to medium body, maybe more on the medium side of things. Construction has been excellent in the past and more youthful examples continue the tradition. It smokes for around an hour however it can very easily hold my attention for longer. The flavour tends not to linger, which is a shame as I would much prefer for it to do so, but at least good memories of the cigar will always remain. A beautiful aroma accompanies the smoke that even non smokers will enjoy and appreciate. Underrated and extremely satisfying. Smoke it and see for yourself!
