My Biography

26 year old Canadian gym rat and history lover who also enjoys the culture and hobby of collecting and smoking cigars.

What was the first cigar you ever smoked?

Gurkha Cellar Reserve 21 Year Hedonism

Which is your desert-island cigar?

H. Upmann Sir Winston Churchill

What is the worst cigar you’ve ever smoked?

Not saying it’s the worst cigar brand ever, but I was very disappointed with a Trinidad Esmeralda that cost me $60 CAD (pre-price increases by Habanos S.A.). I purchased this cigar for my wedding as per recommendation from an aficionado I look up to in the industry. All I could taste when I smoked it was smoke and absolutely nothing else throughout the whole cigar. I was extremely disappointed and I’m very hesitant to pay for any more Trinidad’s after that experience, despite most people saying that it is one of their favourite brands. I will revisit it one day, but for now I remain a little salty especially with the price increases. I find it hard to justify them at this stage in my life.

What is your greatest cigar-related memory?

Smoking around a fire while on a camping trip with my best/childhood friends reminiscing and looking forward during a reunion last year in 2022.

What is your favourite cigar brand?

H. Upmann

What is your favourite cigar accessory?

Les Fines Lames knife/cutter is a great everyday carry.

What is your favourite cigar shop?

Village Cigar Co. (Cigar shop & barbershop is a fantastic combination for a Saturday vibe).

What is your favourite lounge?

No lounges in Canada where I live unfortunately. Hoping to visit some lounges soon in America/abroad.

What is your favourite method of ignition?

Blue flame torch. I live in Canada with a rough climate over 50% of the year so a robust flame is important for me. I prefer a single jet to not risk overdoing the toast on the cigar foot.

What is your favourite cut?

Straight/guillotine.
