My Biography

Barcelona born and raised, studied in Germany, GB and the USA. Also worked internationally for many years, and still.
Classic flat sixer enthusiast, british shoes, art deco, bauhaus and lighter collector, amateur cook that daily cooks for my wonderful and very finickie wife, wine and cigar collector with a very bad self control over my own hobbies. Cigars and wines exist to be enjoyed, just as classic cars.

What was the first cigar you ever smoked?

A diadema, left to me by my late grandfather, who was a very keen cigar smoker.

Which is your desert-island cigar?

The upmann half corona, no doubt, I keep them in tubes to take away by the pair. I allways have one or two with me or near me.

What is the worst cigar you’ve ever smoked?

A vegafina. It was at a wedding. Like leaking a stick full of moss.

What is your greatest cigar-related memory?

The day my bae and I smoked a partagas D4 by the fire, during a very hard March snow storm that left us stranded at our home for 5 days without power. Days of smoking, cooking what was frozen ( we usually hunt and have lots of game frozen) and drinking part of our wine collection.

What is your favourite cigar brand?

I´m between upmann, romeo julieta and partagas. Can´t give my heart to any of them soleley.

What is your favourite cigar accessory?

An new old stock silver Caran d´Ache lighter I restored myself. I carry it everywhere. Great flame and looks.

What is your favourite cigar shop?

Domingo cigars in Barcelona ( old Gimeno). They´ve been here since cigars were imported into the country.

What is your favourite lounge?

The ritz hotel lounge in Barcelona, now the Palace hotel. They have a club with propper cocktails and music where you can enjoy your cigars under a propper roof.

What is your favourite method of ignition?

Gas lighter, no jet. First cut, then light with no puff and when perfectly lit, then smoke.

What is your favourite cut?

I ususlly use a brandless round cutter, sometimes a two blade guillotine.
