My Biography

No 19 bus with my late dad, on the way to Chapel market.
In those days you could smoke on the top deck.
I could see this amazing blueish plume of smoke just craddling the air.
I was transfixed.
The gentleman got up from his seat, and gently walked to the back towards the spiral staircase.
He stopped, looked at me and ruffed my hair and utter the immortal words. “ you ok Son” while still having his cigar in his mouth.
A sliding door moment in my life.
The year 1978.

What was the first cigar you ever smoked?

Villiger cigar..
All I remember is the white box of 5 it came in..

Which is your desert-island cigar?

Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona.
It was the first box of cigars I’d actual purchased while staying at Hotel Nacional de Cuba 1998

What is the worst cigar you’ve ever smoked?

La Flor Dominicana Andalusian bill… And Yes I’m bloody serious as well…
My humble opinion it’s such an overrated cigar… But hey what do I know….
And quite a few plugged Cuban’s as well..

What is your greatest cigar-related memory?

Havana 2002 warm evening in May at The Nacional Hotel, smoking anEpicure No2 while sitting in the gardens overlooking the malecón.

Davidoff's in St James.
First time I ever enter this cathedral, the old gentleman behind the counter wore a bowler hat..

Currently lovely my new Dupont torch lighter.

What is your favourite cut?

Straight… But sometimes I do go with a V-cut.
