My Biography
A humble cigar and whisky aficionado from the flat lands of northern Europe. You can also find me on the Cigarscanner app by the same name.
What was the first cigar you ever smoked?
Partagás Mille Fleurs.
Which is your desert-island cigar?
Any H. Upmann.
What is the worst cigar you’ve ever smoked?
I can't recall, but I'm not a fan of the 60 ring gauges.
What is your greatest cigar-related memory?
Simply discovering the world of cigars thanks to my good friend with many years of experience. He showed me the door and I walked through it. Very thankful each time I am able to share a cigar with a friend. However, I will never forget smoking my first Davidoff (Churchill series, robusto) with my stepfather. What an amazing cigar.
What is your favourite cigar brand?
This is always a battle between a few brands; H. Upmann, Hoyo de Monterrey, Montecristo and Romeo Y Julieta when it comes to Cuban cigars.
What is your favourite cigar accessory?
My S.T. Dupont cutter/stand.
What is your favourite cigar shop?
Uno in Tilburg, Robbe in Tilburg, Hajenius in Amsterdam, Casa del Habano in Almere, Maastricht and Brussels, Cigar World in Düsseldorf.
What is your favourite lounge?
Unfortunately, lounges are no longer legal in this communist-police state that is the Netherlands. So we smoke amongst friends in our own chosen locations or 'underground lounges'.
What is your favourite method of ignition?
A soft, yellow flame - either from a match or a lighter.
What is your favourite cut?
Brizard & Co. "The Trilogy" Perforador, or a simple straight cut.
