My Biography

I'm an engineer at heart who overcame a spinal cord injury, delving deep into agronomy, genetics, soil chemistry, photography and came out on the other side adoring the bouquet of flavors cigars give. I've been on this journey for nearly 2yrs, breaking down flavor profiles for myself and others of New World blends when I came back to Canada to experience more of the Old World while pursuing further education.

What was the first cigar you ever smoked?

Montecristo Open Junior. I was beyond novice and inhaled as well as had no idea of retrohaling. I'd say the first I had that I didn't inhale and enjoyed was several Montecristo No. 2's.

Which is your desert-island cigar?

Vicente Blends Vicentari. Hands down the best I have ever had. Exquisitely delicious and superlative construction.

What is the worst cigar you’ve ever smoked?

Alec Bradley Supervisor Selection. They have this God-awful Selenium taste that is unacceptably disgusting. That's what you get when you try and cheap out. However, I've had many that were on par with $15-20 sticks for a few USD.

What is your greatest cigar-related memory?

My greatest cigar memory is lighting up a Montecristo No. 2 after my cousin's wedding, still dress to the nines, and enjoying the flavors, aromas and time had with friends and family. I would have preferred if others partook but I was fine to smoke by myself.

What is your favourite cigar brand?

Vicente Blends. The class, elegance and dedication devoted to each blends displays a certain prowess of dedication that is meant to give the end-user an experience over a mere commodity. Can not be beat!

What is your favourite cigar accessory?

ST Dupont Defi Extreme. Exemplary design and engineering into a torch lighter that performs at all times and conditions. A step down from the Lignes but overall, heads above the rest of the market.

What is your favourite cigar shop?

Davidoff of Geneva Houston. Despite the limited selection offered, the professionalism and thorough understanding of the products as well as the company and it's future was a breath of fresh air. Difficult to access being downtown Houston but the culture there necessitated a high quality cigar shop.

What is your favourite lounge?

I have yet to find a lounge that is as inviting, inclusive and well-kept for me to continue to return to.

What is your favourite method of ignition?

Soft flame butane, if weather is permitting.

What is your favourite cut?

Punch cut. Nothing quite like a punch to demonstrate the quality of construction and airflow of the draw while also keeping the cap from separating from the head.
