Very very good smoke. Perfect construction, draw and burn. Flavours are classic Cuban, savoury and salty. At £30 it’s a good £10 less than the No. 2 cigars so decent value for money.
Always been a "go to" of mine and the only thicker ring gauge SP. It is a full flavoured but medium (or just below it) smoke. I've always found an elegance here.
I am smoking this cigar whilst typing. Normally I don’t like to be distracted whilst smoking so tend to write up a cigar at the end, but frankly I am delighted at the diversion. Have you had a really bad sore throat where in the advert a stick of celery looks like a thick bramble? Well that’s what I am feeling at the moment. The delightful vendor at a well known tobacconists raised his eyebrow when I bought it and said ‘notes of curry and hard spice’ - which is similar to Sir Humphrey saying that a political decision is ‘courageous’.
Well, at least it burns well and has a good draw: but that reminds me of the Woody Allen joke about the hotel with terrible food - and such small portions!
It’s a pity since the SP Sancho is one of the world’s greatest cigars. But don’t let me put you off this relatively unheralded cigar since as you know - there is no such thing as a bad cigar, it’s just when you smoke it. Maybe I need to have this just before seeing the dentist so that at least the drilling won’t feel such a bad thing relatively.
This is of course simply my opinion!
