High Profile: An Ambassador Answers

Cigar Keep's global community requires legendary figures from all over the world to join us in spreading the news and championing the cause of togetherness. We want you to know more about them so we are pleased to present the first profile of our Man in Belgrade, the wonderful Alex Stipcic, aka Alex Cigar Dandy

There was something mysterious about Alex when I first came across him on Instagram. His mission was clearly to educate and help guide people through the complexities of cigars, whether shapes, taste profiles and names. His large following reflects the fact that his approach is unpretentious, inclusive and, of course, interesting. This isn’t someone pretending to live a life he doesn’t just for likes, his great style complements the source material of his videos rather than be flaunted. When Cigar Keep was being set up he was the first person we wanted to have as an ambassador, as we align with his passion for cigars, his belief in community and to provide entertaining and engaging information for everyone.

1. What kickstarted your passion for cigars?

The smell of Cuba. The answer is very simple. Basically on my first trip to Cuba and my first contact with that beautiful island, with the first step out of the plane I was hit with the most distinguished smell in my life. Somehow I knew that it was it...

2. What is your favorite cigar?

I am happy that I don’t have my favourite cigar. But I do have cigars that I like to come back to, like the H. Upmann Magnum 54, after breakfast, or the Quai D’Orsay No 54 after lunch, as well as Ramon Allones Gigantes after some heavy dinner. But if I have to choose one cigar that I have to smoke for the rest of my life it would be Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona Cab. Of 50.

3. Do you have favorite lounge or terrace to smoke in?

The terrace at Hotel Nacional de Cuba, with the infinity view is unbeatable.

4. What is your most memorable cigar moment?

Every time I light a premium Cuban cigar is a memorable moment in itself.

5. What cigar do you think is underrated?

I think that the Juan Lopez Seleccione No2 is definitely entering that category, Vegas Robaina Unicos and El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme too. But I am very happy that one of my favorite brands like Quai D’Orsay is starting to be recognized with their unique style.
